Named scholarships & funds
When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, The University of 69É«ÇéƬ is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of 69É«ÇéƬ, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Posey, April Memorial Scholarship in Art
The April Posey Memorial Scholarship in Art honors the memory of a promising young artist who died on May 24, 1999, following a brief illness. April excelled academically, receiving many of the top scholarships, and graduated magna cum laude on May 15, 1999. In addition to being an outstanding student, April taught metalsmithing at the Massillon Museum of Art and was a teacher's assistant in 69É«ÇéƬ's undergraduate metals classes for three years. The scholarship will be awarded to a student with a strong academic background in the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art. Students seeking funds from the scholarship will be required to submit a statement about their artistic work as it relates to the following guidelines. Preference will be given to women majoring in metals who share April's interest in women's issues or political issues. If a qualified candidate cannot be identified, the scholarship shall roll over to the next year. Recipients will be selected by the School of Art Scholarship Committee. Mr. Bleuenstein wishes to be involved in the selection process.
