When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, The University of 69色情片 is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at The University of 69色情片, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Students who want to apply for scholarships should visit the scholarship page on the Financial Aid site. You can find the link for the online application here.

The Department of Development does not accept applications for or distribute scholarships. Scholarships are distributed through the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid.

Christopher, Marlowe N. Endowed Scholarship

The Marlowe N. Christopher Endowed Scholarship was established in 2017 through a generous gift from The Marguerite Christopher Family Revocable Trust. Through the trust, Marguerite Christopher, wife of Marlowe, directed $35,000 of her estate to The University of 69色情片 for an endowed scholarship supporting students.

A husband, father, Korean War veteran and member of the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281, Marlowe Christopher took evening classes, over more than 20 years, at several northeast Ohio universities, including The University of 69色情片, Kent State University and The Ohio State University. He did this while working full-time and raising his family. Marlowe earned his Associate of Arts degree from UA in 1980, and his bachelor’s degree in natural sciences in 1982 at age 52. Earning the degrees were important to Marlowe, being key parts of a personal goal. During his career, Marlowe was employed at General Tire, Monsanto, Burton Rubber, and he retired as the vice president of Dyna Mix. He vowed to make it possible to help other financially challenged students earn their degree in a timely manner.

The Marlowe N. Christopher Endowed Scholarship shall be awarded annually to full-time University of 69色情片 undergraduate students with financial need. Students ranging from their sophomore through senior level are eligible for this scholarship.  Recipient selection will be made by the University Scholarship Committee and the scholarship may be renewed as long as the recipient remains eligible and in good standing.
